PMC 2010

Proud Rider & Fund-raiser for the Pan-Mass Challenge 2010

192 miles. 2 days. 58 sponsors, 5100 riders, 3000 volunteers. $5,488 for cancer research & care for children.

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you so much for your generous support in the 31st Annual Pan-Mass Challenge. This event brings the best out in so many different people, all collaborating to ensure that a cure for cancer will be found and that one day this world will be free of this disease.

Your contribution helped us meet our personal fundraising goals, as well as contribute to the $30 million raised this year. More importantly, you helped fund much needed research and care for a disease that has touched the lives of all of us.

Once again, Jamie pedaled from Sturbridge to Provincetown in honor – and in memory – of our friends and family who have battled cancer. He was joined by teammates from Marblehead. Meghan & Bodhi met “Papa” at the Family Finish in Provincetown. When he hopped off his bike and saw the “Proud of U Papa” sign, he said, “I feel like Superman!” We then stayed for a few well-deserved days (for Jamie at least!) of R&R.

We couldn’t have done this event without your support. Jamie says, “I’ll continue to ride and raise money for the PMC as long as my legs can pedal a bike.”

Blessings & Love to you and your family,

Meghan & Jamie Gilroy

Why Give?

Team Gilroy: Jamie (52), Nick (19), Bodhi (3)

It’s all about Love…

I love my family and friends.

I love to ride my bicycle.

I love being alive.

I love being healthy.

Yet there are those that are not.

I wish that a disease called cancer didn’t take so many human beings both young and old.

I have lost dear friends to this disease, taken far too young. My beloved Meghan has lost family and friends to this disease – also snatched way too soon from this beautiful Life.

So I am asking for your help.  On August 7th – 8th I will ride 198 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown in the Pan Mass Challenge to raise money for the Jimmy Fund in the hopes of finding a cure for cancer. Help me raise money that will be used for research in the challenge to permanently remove this disease from our lives.  Help me to do what I love for a worthy cause.

My goal is to raise $6,700.  But any amount that you feel willing to give is deeply appreciated.

Here’s how it works – you can mail me a check made out to:

PMC – Jimmy Fund.  Or you can log onto and donate online.  Follow the link to e-Gift and use my PMC ID: JG0042.  My mailing address is:

It is all about Love, don’t you think?  Thank you so much for your support!!!

Many Thanks!
